Your choices / Cookies & browser storage

A little clarity
about cookies.

This notice explains cookies and similar browser storage used on the Eight18dev portfolio at eight18.dev. Questions? Email office@eight18.dev.

Your choice comes first

Google Analytics is optional. Its library is blocked until you choose Accept analytics. Rejecting analytics leaves the portfolio and enquiry links available. Advertising storage, advertising user data, Google signals and advertising personalisation are disabled in this website’s Analytics configuration.

Use Cookie settings in the footer to accept, reject or change your choice.

What is stored on your device?

Item	Purpose	Duration / choice
`eight18dev.analytics-consent.v1` Local storage	Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, and when you chose. It is stored in your browser, not sent to Google.	Your choice is honoured for 180 days before asking again. Clear site data in your browser to remove the stored record.
`_ga` Google Analytics cookie	Helps distinguish browsers for visit measurement. Used only after analytics is accepted.	The site configures Analytics cookie expiry to 180 days without refreshing expiry on each visit. Browser settings may shorten storage.
`_ga_7V0CDN3EK0` Google Analytics cookie	Helps maintain session information for this site’s Analytics property. Used only after analytics is accepted.	Subject to the same configured Analytics cookie lifetime and browser restrictions.

The consent preference is functional browser storage, separate from optional measurement cookies. This portfolio does not use an advertising cookie category.

What happens if you accept?

The site loads Google Analytics for measurement ID G-7V0CDN3EK0. Google receives usage information such as pages visited and browser/device details; requests also necessarily expose connection information such as your IP address to Google. This can involve processing outside the UK or EEA. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.

Cookie lifetime on your device is separate from how long information is retained in Google Analytics.

Changing your mind

You can reject analytics after accepting it. The site then disables measurement, removes accessible first-party Google Analytics cookies and reloads without the Google library. This stops future collection through this site’s tag; it does not automatically erase information previously received by Google.

Your choice applies to this browser and device. Another browser or device may ask again. If browser storage is unavailable, the site may ask on each page.

Other connections and enquiries

The site uses system fonts and does not request fonts from Google Fonts. Hosting requests reach the Lightsail web server. The enquiry form opens your own email app with a draft and does not send or store the message on this website.

External links, including Football Forecast Lab, open separate websites with their own storage and privacy practices. This notice describes this portfolio’s implementation.
